LSU Tigers to vent their frustrations on Auburn Saturday
Revenge was the theme when the Wildcats met the Tigers again last week.
And the Kentucky Wildcats were able to have exactly that as they finally had their revenge on the LSU Tigers after LSU simply blasted them with a 49-0 humiliating loss last year. This 2007 NCAA college football season, it was Kentucky's time and while it took THREE OVERTIME PERIODS, revenge was still sweet.
The Kentucky Wildcats managed to shock then No.1 ranked LSU Tigers and win 43-37 in a triple overtime game that probably dealt LSU with something even more important than a loss to their rivals from Kentucky.
The BCS title chase.
With the LSU Tigers losing for the first time this 2007 NCAA college football season, they find themselves making a rather drastic drop in the BCS rankings, paving the way for newcomers South Florida and Boston College, to lord over the intricate and confusing college football hierarchy system.
Kentucky Wildcats head coach Rich Brooks sure was happy about the win. Especially after he almost lost his job last season when LSU pounded his boys to that fateful 49-0 annihilation.
''For those people who didn't think we were a real contender,'' Rich Brooks said, ''maybe they do tonight.''
On Saturday, the LSU Tigers will be trying to have revenge themselves as they host the Auburn Tigers for Week 8 of the NCAA college football season. The Tigers are probably coming in this game a little irritated with the setback Kentucky dealt them last week. Facing them on a football field is probably not the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
