Giants VS Dolphins in London for NFL Week 8

This Sunday, the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins play outside the United States.

For the first time this 2007-08 NFL football season, the league will be giving it's London football fans regular season action as the Giants and the Dolphins meet at legendary Wembley Stadium.

Yes, the NFL will be live in Europe as the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins play their Week 8 match-up straight from London. This would be the league's first regular season game played there, second regular season game abroad as the NFL usually have these international adventures, if you will, only for the preseason.

The first NFL regular season game played abroad was the game between the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants back in October 2, 2005 in Mexico. The Cardinals simply trashed the 49ers, 31-14, it was the fourth game of the regular season for both teams.

A crowd of 103,467 gathered in Azteca Stadium for it.

The NFL will be hoping for the same success when the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins dance for London. The Giants are red-hot winning five games in a row while the Dolphins are ice-cold, losing seven straight.

And as if Miami's troubles was enough, Dolphins running back Ronnie Brown is now out for the rest of the season with a torn knee ligament.

He'd probably miss the trip to Europe.

2007 Breeders' Cup Classic Betting Picks and Tips

This Saturday, the 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic will set the latest horse racing warfare of the year.

Yes, the Breeders' Cup betting money train will be moving and it will definitely take some space of the sporting world this weekend. The contenders for the highly anticipated 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic gets ready to win the latest horse racing event to give their heir bragging rights for the next three generations.

Of course, to give Breeders' Cup wagering fans another reason why they should keep on gambling too.

With that said, three horses stand out in the 2007 Breeders' Cup main event. That's Street Sense, Curlin and Hard Spun. Yes, these three thoroughbreds were the stars of the concluded Triple Crown series too. Can one of these horses win the Breeders' Cup Classic? Read on.

The 2007 Kentucky Derby champion, Street Sense, is going to the Classic ironically coming off a loss at the Kentucky Cup. However, don't let that fool you. Street Sense wasn't primed that day and was unfortunate to be behind Hard Spun then.

Street Sense, along with Curlin, is probably the two best three-year-olds in the country today but one thing that separates Street from Curlin is the fact that Street comes through when there's big money on the line.

Speaking of Curlin, this horse is a little bit hard to figure out compared to the Derby champ.

We all saw how overrated Curlin was in the Haskell. We also saw how good he can really be at the Jockey Club Gold Cup. Of course, he is still the 2007 Preakness Stakes champion. Will you bet on this horse? You're better off flipping a coin.

Last but certainly not the least, we have Hard Spun. 'Spun is still regarded as one of the heavy favorites to win the 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic despite disappointing horse racing bettors time and time again.

Should you bet on him this time? Probably not.

Who will win the 2007 Breeders' Cup Classic? Bodog has the odds.

Golden Eagles VS Thundering Herd in College Football

It'll be a Sunday night in college football when the Southern Miss Golden Eagles visit the Marshall Thundering Herd.

Yes, it's college football's version of Sunday Night Football as the 2007 NCAA college football season continues at Edwards Stadium in Huntington, West Virginia.

The Marshall Thundering Herd are yet to win a single game on that college football field. Their latest loss, and there have been many this season, were to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Tulsa QB Paul Smith smothered the Thundering Herd defense for 385 yards, not to mention two touchdowns and another when he ran with it.

The result? Another disappointing loss for Marshall, 38-31, extending their losing streak to SIX GAMES.

For what it's worth, the Thundering Herd, despite all the disappointments they've been having so far, are excited that they'll finally be returning home for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles since New Hampshire hammered them last September 15.

They're hoping that being at home will help them to finally get a win.

''We're excited. We are playing a very good football team in Southern Miss. We're going head-to-head with the NFL, but it's on national television,'' Marshall Thundering Herd head coach Mark Snyder said.

''We have a chance to represent our university against a very good football team. I feel like we match up fairly well with Southern Miss.''

LSU Tigers to vent their frustrations on Auburn Saturday

Revenge was the theme when the Wildcats met the Tigers again last week.

And the Kentucky Wildcats were able to have exactly that as they finally had their revenge on the LSU Tigers after LSU simply blasted them with a 49-0 humiliating loss last year. This 2007 NCAA college football season, it was Kentucky's time and while it took THREE OVERTIME PERIODS, revenge was still sweet.

The Kentucky Wildcats managed to shock then No.1 ranked LSU Tigers and win 43-37 in a triple overtime game that probably dealt LSU with something even more important than a loss to their rivals from Kentucky.

The BCS title chase.

With the LSU Tigers losing for the first time this 2007 NCAA college football season, they find themselves making a rather drastic drop in the BCS rankings, paving the way for newcomers South Florida and Boston College, to lord over the intricate and confusing college football hierarchy system.

Kentucky Wildcats head coach Rich Brooks sure was happy about the win. Especially after he almost lost his job last season when LSU pounded his boys to that fateful 49-0 annihilation.

''For those people who didn't think we were a real contender,'' Rich Brooks said, ''maybe they do tonight.''

On Saturday, the LSU Tigers will be trying to have revenge themselves as they host the Auburn Tigers for Week 8 of the NCAA college football season. The Tigers are probably coming in this game a little irritated with the setback Kentucky dealt them last week. Facing them on a football field is probably not the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Can Culpepper lead the Raiders past Chargers Sunday?

As of the moment, Daunte Culpepper is the man in Oakland, Cali.

After a five-touchdown performance that simply created a wild scramble for Daunte Culpepper in NFL fantasy leagues, the Oakland Raiders will be sticking with Daunte against the San Diego Chargers as they prepare to make the trip to Cali for Week 6 of the 2007-08 NFL football season.

Yes, Daunte Culpepper, after joining Miami, is back creating headlines with his touchdowns again. He had five of them against his former team and the Oakland Raiders doesn't even have to think twice about starting Culpepper.

The Oakland Raiders, before taking a time off with their bye-week, were simply beating Miami on the football field. It was Daunte Culpepper's return to Miami when he was due to face his former Miami Dolphins teammates.

Oh yes, Daunte was feeling it too.

Daunte Culpepper had a massive five-touchdown performance to simply destroy any semblance of defense the Miami Dolphins threw at him. He had two passing and three rushing touchdowns, giving Miami a glimpse of the Culpepper they picked up from the Minnesota Vikings.

Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin is sticking with Daunte against a somewhat struggling San Diego Chargers team. After surprising most of us when he decided to start Josh McCown, he found no reason why he should keep this decision a secret.

England VS Estonia in Euro 2008 Qualifiers

David Beckham is still nursing a knee injury and he'll be out for England's fixture against Estonia.

Heading to England's Euro 2008 Qualifier against Estonia this Saturday, David Beckham will be out with yet another injury. Despite that, Steve McClaren is still praising the guy because of his motivation to return and play again for his home country.

England head coach Steve McClaren is praising David Beckham for, according to McClaren, the way the England star is still trying to regain his fitness.

''He's a true patriot and he loves playing for England,'' England coach Steve McClaren said of Beckham for his efforts to be available for the national team's campaign this season. ''That's still his motivation, that's still his mind-set.''

David Beckham is still nursing a right knee injury he sustained playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy in MLS soccer. The injury denied Becks for two England European Championship qualifiers last September and will still rule him out of two more fixtures, one against Estonia this Saturday, and another against Russia.

What David Beckham is aiming for now is to be fit in time to lead England to next summer's finals in Switzerland and Austria. Back in 2001, Becks did just that, scoring a late free kick against Greece to send the England national team to the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

''He's working towards that,'' Steve McClaren said. ''He's in late training at the moment and that's his target to be back playing and in contention for that squad.''

David Beckham will also miss his game on Sunday when his Los Angeles Galaxy visit Houston.

Can the Patriots remain Undefeated in NFL Week 5?

Week 5 and we still have a few teams looking to erase the record the '72 Dolphins have in the NFL.

The 1972 Miami Dolphins are still the only team in pro football who finished a full year UNDEFEATED. In this 2007-08 NFL football season, the Patriots, the Packers, the Cowboys and the Colts are the only four teams that still have a chance of matching that feat.

Of course, they gotta' win in Week 5 first. And the last time NFL football was on, the Pittsburgh Steelers saw their ascend to the '72 Dolphins record come to a screeching halt when the Arizona Cardinals handed them their very first loss of the season.

As for the New England Patriots, these guys will be hosting a lowly Cleveland Browns team in probably one of the toughest games to win a football game, Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

The Browns are 2-2 this season. Sure, they were able to beat the powerhouse Baltimore Ravens last Sunday, but this time, they have the Patriots. And when you face a team who has two of the hottest guys in football right now, that being Tom Brady and Randy Moss, you don't have a chance.

Meanwhile, Pats' rivals, Indianapolis Colts, will be going up against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they too try to keep their undefeated streak going. The Bucs are currently lording over a weak NFC South division and are currently riding a three-game winning streak after losing their first game of the season.

However, beating the Indianapolis Colts, at the RCA Dome is a rather impossible task indeed. Especially if you don't have all your weapons heading to a battle with Indianapolis. You see, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won't be having their star running back Cadillac Williams. Tampa Bay won't be having any wins whatsoever too.

2007-08 NFL Football Season

Red River Rivalry: Texas VS Oklahoma on Saturday

Week 6 of the 2007 NCAA college football season and heading for this Saturday's crop of games, we see some new teams on top of the infamous AP poll rankings.

The LSU Tigers are now our new No.1 team, dethroning the USC Trojans from their throne. Teams like the California Golden Bears, the Wisconsin Badgers and the South Florida Bulls were all voted in the top ten.

As for the teams we normally see on top, well, let's just say they have fallen under the radar lately.

Two of which are the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns. These two teams started their respective Big 12 campaigns with losses. The Longhorns lost to the Kansas State Wildcats while the Sooners were just edged by the Colorado Buffaloes, 27-24.

Yep, they do have this 'Red River Rivalry' going for them but perhaps what's more important for these two teams that'll be facing off this Saturday is to avoid starting their Big 12 campaign with a dismal 0-2 start.

This 'Red River Rivalry' thing PROBABLY came from the Red River that forms part of the boundary that separates Oklahoma and Texas. Oh yeah, the Texas Longhorns have dominated this thing so far, with an all-time record of 57-35-9.

These Longhorns will be going for a third straight win on Saturday despite the fact that both teams will be heading for their annual collision course coming off losses for the first time in eight years.

So who should you be betting on? Sure, Texas almost always gets the best of Oklahoma in this 'Red River Rivalry' thing but I have a feeling Sooners QB Sam Bradford will be able to torch these Texans after suffering his very first career defeat against the Buffaloes last Saturday.
