Felix Trinidad V Roy Jones Jr. on January 26

Felix Trinidad will meet Roy Jones Jr. in a match we almost failed to see.

Yes, Felix Trinidad will be making his return to the squared circle to fight the man once dubbed as ''the best pound for pound fighter in the world,'' Roy Jones Jr. This fight was initially scheduled in 2001 but thanks to Bernard Hopkins knocking out Trinidad, it never happened.

Boxing promoter extraordinaire Don King, announced that we will finally see this epic bout between the two greatest fighters of their era. Two future Hall of Famers Felix Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr. will meet in a pay-per-view fight on January 26 at Madison Square Garden.

''We just made this fight. It's a fight made in boxing heaven,'' Don King said. ''We're gonna start the year off with a bang.''

Although both Felix Trinidad and Roy Jones Jr. are no longer the same explosive boxers we all loved watching in the past, this is probably going to be a good one still considering the fact that there's a scarcity somewhat of great boxing matches in the sport these days.

For what it's worth, Felix Trinidad will be coming out of retirement for the second time to fight a guy like Roy Jones Jr. who the world seems to have forgotten already.

Felix Trinidad will be more than happy to move up for the 12-round, 170-pound fight. Felix NEVER fought above 160 pounds but for some reason, he is claiming that 170 will just be right for him.

''I'm going to feel very good at that weight,'' Felix Trinidad said. ''The night of the fight that weight will be right for me.''

As for Roy Jones Jr., he doesn't like the fact that he has to make the 170-pound limit for his fight with Trinidad considering that he has fought on 170 in the past.

''You don't like it, but you got to do it,'' Roy Jones Jr. said. ''I'll sacrifice a few pounds to make the fight with Tito. Of course it will be difficult, but I'll do it. This is a fight worth getting up for.''

Jones weighed 193 when he dominated John Ruiz to win a heavyweight world title in 2003. Jones' lightest fighting weight was 167 for his final super middleweight title defense in 1996.
