2007 NASCAR Busch Series resumes Saturday
The O'Reilly Raceway Park will be filled with skid marks and burning rubber as the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series resumes on Saturday.
Coming to this Saturday's race, Carl Edwards still leads the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series championship standings with 3229 points. David Reutimann follows with 2377 while Kevin Harvick rounds up the top three with 2358.
Probably among the three, Kevin Harvick engineered the most buzz a few days ago when he questioned NASCAR's policy on drug testing.
As of the moment, drug testing on NASCAR will only occur on reasonable suspicion and Kevin Harvick, along with Jeff Burton, felt that it should be done randomly.
The subject of drug testing in the 2007 NASCAR season was a result of Craftsman Truck Series driver Aaron Fike getting arrested and charged with possession of heroin and drug abuse instruments.
The incident made the two NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers to ask for random testing at least twice a year.
''I think we owe it to the sponsors and the fans to 100 percent know that this is a clean environment,'' Kevin Harvick said.
''It would eliminate a lot of those problems of the younger drivers that disrespect the sport and the system. Shame on NASCAR for not policing our garage better than what they police it right now.''
